Alternatives to a Traditional Wedding

When it comes to the big day, you want it to be as special and unique as possible. Weddings tend to fall into a few categories, and it can be tough to find ways to make your day stand out from the rest. The following are a couple of ideas to make sure your wedding is as memorable for your guests as it is for you.

Local Vacation Wedding

Keep your wedding simple and easy to get to you by having a mini vocational wedding right in your home town. Pick your favorite places and tour around with your guests before winding up at the place the ceremony will happen, which can be at your favorite local getaway, perhaps even where you had your first date, kiss, or something of that nature.

Mutual Love

You have probably heard about some crazy weddings themed around things like The Simpsons or another iconic series or movie. These tend to wind up being pretty tacky, but if you work with the idea you can have a wedding themed around something both you and your soon to be husband love. A great example would be something like camping, where you could have your wedding in a beautiful forest like setting and decorate the area to your liking. The options are limitless and will vary from person to person.

Historical Themes

Vintage is always in, so why not apply this to your wedding. I’ve been to a few that have some truly unique aesthetics based around the 80s or 90s. Taken a step further you could go as far to have a medieval style setting for those who love the time period. Feudal Japan also offers a lot of truly beautiful aesthetics to apply to your wedding theme. Creativity is key with this one.

You don’t have to go all out to make your wedding unique. Often, adding something a simple as unique guest gifts, flower arrangements, entertainment or decorations can make all the difference. As long as you think outside the box you can find yourself providing your guests with a day they will remember as fondly as yourself. Above all, have fun with it! A unique and enjoyable experience always lingers in memory, even if you have a pretty cookie cutter wedding aesthetic.
